BackYear 3 - Stone Age Day
Year 3 travelled back in time to experience life as Stone Age people. The day began with cave painting, where pupils used symbols and images to communicate stories and ideas, just as early humans once did. They then crafted their own stone tools, before venturing out to practise hunting and gathering skills.
At the end of the day, the children prepared a delicious fruit stew, gathered around the fire pit, and listened to a folktale, echoing the traditions of our earliest ancestors.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to explore what life might have been like for early hunter-gatherers, and to bring history to life in a truly memorable way.
