Ellie J, Sienna B, Albie N and Dylan V represented Year 6 today and took part in the annual Mathletics Competition for Thurrock Primary Schools at The Gateway Academy in Tilbury. The aim of this fun event, held by the Rotary Club of Grays Thurrock, is to celebrate and encourage students to achieve their very best in mathematics. Within their team of four, the children were tasked with working in an organised way to make sure that they could answer all of the challenging questions in their allocated time.

The children worked tirelessly throughout, demonstrating a broad range of mathematical skills and working well as a team, before finishing in 16th place in what was described by the organisers as ‘the highest scoring year to date’.
